Fresh star stories with a cool online feel.

Religion plays a huge part in many people’s lives. It governs the social and personal, and frequently political spheres as well. But sometimes, it doesn’t mix well when legalities come into play.

YSL member Shannon Stillwell might have to learn that lesson the hard way. Stillwell is one of the artists under the YSL or Young Slime Life label, founded by rapper Young Thug in 2016.

In May 2022, Shannon Stillwell was arrested with 28 other rappers from YSL, including Young Thug, for violating the RICO law of Georgia. Stillwell was later also separately detained for an alleged murder as well. The RICO law stands for Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. However, Stillwell has found himself in a peculiar position in this case due to a goat incident.

YSL’s Shannon Stillwell was arrested for the alleged murder of group member Shymel Drinks and for violating the RICO Act with his fellow YSL bandmates. However, Young Thug’s legal team doesn’t want a video showing Stillwell involved in a ritual goal sacrifice being presented as evidence since the murder case differs from the RICO case that most YSL members are involved with. The internet isn’t too convinced.

What Is Going on with YSL’s Shannon Stillwell?

🔥🚨BREAKING NEWS: Shannon Stillwell, a member of Young Thug’s YSL crew was arrested during a religious goat sacrificing ritual and their attorney has filed a motion to prevent the footage from being used at the trial.

On July 27, Young Thug’s attorney Brian Steel did something that made everyone on the internet raise their eyebrows. He filed a motion where he wanted to suppress what could be critical evidence related to Shannon Stillwell, who is a co-defendant in the case.

They were arrested last year on May 9, 2022, along with the rest of the YSL group, for violating the RICO Act.

As per Legal Dictionary, the law states that:

“[It] allows authorities to punish offenders engaging in criminal activities, particularly racketeering. For example, RICO law punishes crime bosses who order their subordinates to carry out criminal activities for them. Else, these bosses could claim innocence because they technically were not the ones to carry out the crimes.”

But Stillwell, who also goes by SB, was released on bail. But a week later, he was arrested again on May 17, 2022, regarding the alleged murder of YSL member Shymel Drinks. So what is the crucial evidence that Brian Steel doesn’t want to be seen?

JUST IN: Attorneys for Young Thug filed a motion Thursday, claiming that co-defendant, Shannon Stillwell, who is facing numerous charges, including murder, was arrested by police “while in the midst of a religious ceremony which involved supposed sacrifice of goats.” @wsbtv

When Stillwell was arrested last year from his East Point home in Georgia, he was performing a religious ceremony where he was involved in sacrificing goats. Young Thug’s legal team said the video showing this should be excluded from the evidence pile as Stillwell’s murder charges differ from the RICO charges that YSL is facing.

Also, Brian Steel has said that his client’s trial shouldn’t be linked in any way to the religious beliefs of his co-defendant. The prosecution is hellbent on showing this video during the ongoing RICO trial of Young Thug. In the video, Stillwell is seen in an all-white attire where he’s involved in animal sacrifice to bring on Loa.

In the Voodoo religion, Loa is referred to as the spiritual place between humanity and the creator, who commands the universe and offers blessings.

The Internet’s Reaction to Shannon Stillwell’s Goat Sacrifice Video

Gosh, Who would’ve ever guessed that a guy who likes to call himself Young Thug would hang out with people who sacrifice goats….

As expected, this has sparked the interest of the internet. Many now vehemently want to see what’s going on in the video and why is Young Thug’s (whose real name is Jefferey Williams) team desperately trying to bury it. Many think that if there’s nothing related to Young Thug in it, then there shouldn’t be anything to fear.

Others think that the video might prevent YSL’s founder from getting a bond. Already, Young Thug’s bond has been denied four times since 2022.

It’s alleged that he’s the mastermind behind every alleged criminal as well as gang activity of YSL that has plagued Atlanta since 2015. Here are some iconic reactions from the internet about it all:

In the Young Thug case: It was alleged that someone was taking part in a goat sacrifice ceremony. People in hip hop circles are surprised that this takes place. A few rappers that have been open about using Santeria (ie,animal sacrifices) for legal & opposition protection.

I didn't have Young Thug goat sacrifice on my bingo card

Young Thug’s lawyers want goat sacrifice excluded from evidence .

Shits deeper than rap

Damn Young Thug and his crew are slacking. Goat sacrifice 😂

Interestingly, multiple YSL members have taken plea deals and admitted to their connections with the group so that they don’t have to go to trial like Shannon Stillwell and Young Thug. Apart from RICO charges, Stillwell faces gun charges and charges regarding participation in a criminal street gang.

What are your thoughts about the video that Young Thug’s legal team is trying to suppress and dismiss? Does it contain incriminating evidence about the Atlanta rapper?
