Who Is Matt Fitzpatrick's Girlfriend?

Unlike a lot of his peers, many of who have recently got married, US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick doesn't appear to be in a rush to walk down the aisle. That being said he does appear to have a reasonably new girlfriend, a woman called Katherine Gaal.

She first appeared on Fitzpatrick's social media at the start of 2023 in Hawaii at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, with Gaal also seen again at the Masters' Par-3 Tournament, as well as Wimbledon.

We do not know that much about Gaal and her Instagram is private. However, she is described as an “extremely hardworking and ambitious individual who is able to work exceptionally well in a fast-paced, demanding environment” on her LinkedIn page.

Fitzpatrick had been previously dating Deniz Khazaniuk (sometimes Khazan), a tennis player who achieved a career-high ranking on the WTA of 200 (Singles). However, it appears that they have parted company and she was last seen publicly with the golf star supporting him at the 2020 DP World Tour Championships.

Fitzpatrick revealed how a telephone conversation with his now ex-girlfriend, whose family are from Ukraine, helped put his career into perspective: "She was telling me about her gran who had a couple of strokes recently and can hardly walk, so she can't go anywhere," he told the Mail Online last June

"Then she told me about her uncle who had just packed his bags and was off to fight tomorrow. I was sitting there in Florida ready to practise and it hit me, the contrast between the fact he might never come back and what I do."

Fitzpatrick had called Khazaniuk, who was born in Israel after her family immigrated from Ukraine, to check up on her following Russia's invasion of the country last year. He added: "I'd already decided to be a little easier on myself this year and appreciate all that I have but that phone call just emphasized I don't want to be miserable for the rest of my life worrying about winning golf tournaments. Sure, I want to win but there has to be a balance."
