Veteran actress Tanuja was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Sunday evening, as per the latest reports. At 80 years old, she is the mother of actresses Kajol and Tanisha Mukerji and the mother-in-law of Ajay Devgn. Her hospitalisation is attributed to age-related illnesses, and she's presently in the ICU at a hospital in Mumbai's Juhu area.

As per reports, she is under observation and is doing well. No official statement has been released by her family or representatives yet.

Tanuja, born to filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth, has an extensive career in Hindi and Bengali cinema. Her acting journey began as a child actor in Hamari Beti in 1950, and she later debuted as a leading lady in Hamari Yaad Aayegi in 1961. Her repertoire includes successful films like Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi, Jewel Thief, Paisa Ya Pyaar, Haathi Mere Saathi, and Mere Jeevan Sathi in Hindi cinema.
