There are no plans to give the All Blacks or Wallabies a replica World Cup trophy to keep after Sunday's conclusion to the eighth tournament.
Both nations have won the title twice but unlike football, which allowed Brazil to keep the original Jules Rimet trophy when they won their third world crown, there will be no work, other than engraving, for the goldsmiths - after this tournament.
A World Rugby spokesman said there had not been any discussion about that concept.
