Professional Background
I earned a bachelor's degree in science from Seoul National University with the intent to become a science teacher and scientist. During my master's degree program, I studied the interface between cell biology and pharmacology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. My Ph.D. studies and postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Dr. Joe Lutkenhaus were to understand the spatial regulatory mechanisms of division site selection using E.coli as a model bacterium.
