Problem with that is that it was explicitly stated in game that it happened two years ago. I can't exactly remember where, but I know an NPC mentions the timeline, which does make it weird why they talk as if it were so recent.

Also the Bulbapedia article just references the general timeline, not when it actually happens.

Besides, the whole roaring thing just seems like one of those urban myths.
