Fans of American rapper, Lil Loaded, have been thrown into mourning following his tragic passing.

According to US Today, Lil Loaded whose real name is Dashawn Robertson was confirmed dead by Dallas County medical examiner’s office on May 31.

While officials did not reveal the cause of his death, Lil Loaded's attorney, Ashkan Mehryari, has said the cause of death was suicide.

In a statement as obtained by US Today, Mehryari said:

"Sadly, I am able to confirm Mr. Robertson passed away today,"

In her interview with Dallas Morning News, the attorney described Lil Loaded's death as "very tragic."

He added:

"He had a very bright and promising music career ahead of him."

Lil Loaded, a hitmaker

The news of his death comes a week after his 2019 hit song, 6locc 6a6y, was certified gold on May 25 by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The music video for the song has amassed nearly 29 million views on YouTube. The rapper's follow-up single in October 2019, Gang Unit, became an even bigger hit with over 39 million YouTube views.

Murder charge

In 2021, Lil Loaded was arrested following the October shooting of 18-year-old Khalil Walker, his bestfriend. The arrest was based on a murder charge.

After Walker's death, Lil Loaded took to Instagram to address his arrest.

"I appreciate all y’all support . They try to make u look guilty wen u innocent regardless .. we going to get pass this . Rip my brother love u," he captioned the post.

DMX passes on

Lil Loaded's death comes months after rapper DMX died at the age of 50 a week after suffering a heart attack occasioned by a drug overdose.

The rapper and actor, born Earl Simmons, died at White Plains Hospital in New York on Friday, April 9.

His death was confirmed to People by his family, saying DMX passed away peacefully with family present after suffering a catastrophic cardiac arrest.
